看完了全八集之后，我觉得中文翻译成「现代之爱」或许更贴切一些。相信和我一样看完整部剧的人都能够感觉到这部剧想要详细阐释的modern love并不是狭隘地仅指「爱情」这一种吧。

第1集里门卫和女主之间拥有一种似朋友、似父女的情份，想想也只有发生在纽约才足够合情理了。

PS：女主是我很喜欢的sitcom之一《老爸老妈浪漫史》（How I Met Your Mother）中的老妈，之前还出演了《黑镜》第四季第一集。】（不由得脑洞大开了一番，如果把女主的遭遇放置到当下的国内环境，父母亲说不定先要找到男方痛骂一番，再双双泪眼婆娑地乞求女儿把孩子打掉回到家乡，更不用提周围的邻居、朋友甚至是亲戚们在背后的指指点点。哈哈哈哈哈哈！）

第2集的两段爱情故事我都很喜欢，男主Dev Patel也是我比较欣赏的男演员之一。

PS：我还能清晰地记得当年还是愣头青的他在英剧《皮囊》（Skins）里面光屁股的样子。（我在说什么我不知道……?）之后他出演的美剧《新闻编辑室》（The Newsroom）和电影《雄狮》（LION）都很不错，小伙子接戏眼光nice。

S01E02，男主Dev Patel个高腿长，讲话还很温柔。

第3集里的Anne Hathaway演技很不错，所以最后还是没有和Jeff在一起吗？好可惜噢。

第4集我个人挺喜欢的，很意外查了一下imdb居然只有6.6分？但我感觉真的精准地捕捉到了情感里那些令人窒息的细节，具有一种生活化的真实。丈夫不仅无法意识到自己太以自我为中心，而且每次回答妻子的问题都是封闭式回答，换了谁都会觉得窒息到无法沟通吧。当然妻子也有不太好的地方，有时候气劲一上来说话太过分，打网球一定要按照规矩来打这一点有点太刻板。但是又有哪段亲密关系里的一方是完美的呢？给我的思考就是健康的亲密关系需要善于和对方沟通，从而相互成就吧。

S01E04，他俩要是拍个衍生的Sitcom就好了！

第5集感觉无功无过的一集。

第6集看完了非常不舒服，这到底是哪种modern love？就是一个还未摆脱daddy issue的20岁女生在中年成熟男人身上寻找父爱，结果对方会错了意，最后搞得双方都很尴尬……当然电视剧最后的结局是一种理想化的善意解读，个人看完了真的觉得非常weird。

第7集是一对gay couple和代孕母亲之间的似朋友、似亲人的情份。这集真的太好玩了哈哈哈哈哈！代孕母亲养了一只体积庞大的金毛，而情侣则养了一只很嗲很可爱的小型狐狸犬？（抱歉狗狗的种类我不太分得清楚）。剧情发展到一半，代孕母亲的公金毛xx了可爱的小狐狸犬，莫娘悲愤交加的小表情笑死我了哈哈哈哈哈哈！

最喜欢第8集，从讨论组里看到了原文，可以说是一位真正爱过、宽恕过并经历过的女性才能写出的文字。如果出自20岁左右的女性的手笔，难免令人觉得生活经验不够从而不太具有说服力。但是原文作者本人已经70岁，由此可想而知生活给予的各种经历以及由此沉淀的智识和思考，让人不得不心生动容。

改编的英文原文里有些细节部分和剧版里的稍微不太一样，摘取了几个我喜欢的段落：

I could slow down and let him beat me, but that would be patronizing to him and make me resentful. Then I thought, "If he gets annoyed that I ran faster, he's not the man for me." In my younger years I would have felt competitive, as if his love for her meant less for me. Now I knew differently, and one night I spoke my mind. "I know that you loved Betty very much, and I have great respect for your marriage," I began. "But I think you have room in your heart for me, too."

On the flight home, Sam declared, "We must never travel separately again."

OLD LOVE is different. In our 70s and 80s, we had been through enough of life's ups and downs to know who we were, and we had learned to compromise. We knew something about death because we had seen loved ones die. The finish line was drawing closer. Why not have one last blossoming of the heart? I was no longer so pretty, but I was not so neurotic either. I had survived loss and mistakes and ill-consdiered decision; if this relationship failed, I'd survived that too.

Not only was I happy during my short years with Sam, I knew I was happy. I had one of the most precious blessings available to human beings — REAL LOVE. I went for it and I found it.

I yearn desperately for Sam. But the current pain is very worth it. He and I often told each other, "We are so lucky." And we were. Young love, even for old people, can be surprisingly bountiful.
